Classroom Routines going well

The first day 1:1 was a "go", I was ready.  Ready is a strong word, but some of the systems I had in place prior to day 1 made the whole process seamless.  Here are some structures that really helped:

1.  My tables are color coded.  As simple as this is, it makes all transitions easy in my room.  There are crates placed around the room for Chromebook bags.  The crates are labeled by color ,two color tables share a crate.  In addition, it is easy to release tables to get Chromebooks by color.  I have noticed over the past two years, that using a color instead of a student name creates an environment of collaboration.  Students are no longer "chosen" by me to represent the table.  They have a sense of belonging to that table group.  It also allows for my sharing out-process using  "Numbered Heads", my favorite system of all.  More on this later...

2. On my TV, I post my message with a background of either red or green.  Red means No Chromebooks and put them in the crates.  Green means open Chromebooks and read directions of what to do with them. Since day one, not one student has asked me, "Are we going to need our Chromebook today?"  Easy system and works like a charm!

This is my first practice blog.  I am sure it won't be read by many, but I can see how this process will serve as a nice reflection tool.  Please share any systems that are working well for you!
